Addresses of Tracy Connolly, Steven Barker and Jason Owen
Three people charged in connection with the murder of an infant have been committed for trial at the Old Bailey.
Tracey Connolly, 25, of Penshurst Road, Tottenham, north London, was charged with the murder of her 17-month-old son, Peter, and with allowing and causing the death of a child under 16. Her partner Steven Barker, 31, also of Penhurst Road, Tottenham, was also charged with murder and allowing and causing the death of a child under 16.
Barker’s brother Jason Owen, 35, of Wittersham Road, Bromley, was charged with allowing and causing the death of a child under 16.
All three were remanded in custody at Highgate Magistrates’ Court in north London to appear at the Old Bailey on November 23.
Peter was pronounced dead at North Middlesex Hospital, north London, on August 3.

Thank you Shelly for sharing your thoughts – I agree totally with what you have written.
This case has not received much coverage here in Australia, but I have read everything I could find on the internet and like everyone else, I have been shocked, appalled and devastated by what happened to little Peter. I have a little boy who is almost exactly the same age as Peter was when he died, and I am at a loss to understand how anybody could intentionally hurt such a beautiful, innocent child… let alone systematically neglect, injure, torture and traumatise a little human being who looks to the adults in his (or her) life only for love, care and comfort.
And as much as I have been horrified by the treatment of little Peter, I believe neither in the death penalty nor vigilante justice. I absolutely want to see justice served, but in the form of life (and that means LIFE, not a few years – and certainly no “new life” or identity protection upon release from one of these highly inadequate sentences) in a maximum security prison. Offenders of this kind should also be made to provide restitution to the family of their victim/s, and undergo involuntary rehabilitation.
I was also incensed by the suggestion made by someone in the British court system that Peter’s life would never have amounted to anything given his background, and that if he had survived, he would most likely have been a thug and criminal by his early teens. Who has the right to predict such a thing – Peter had as much right to a chance at life as the next person. With a loving, stable home, who knows what he might have grown up to become? Unfortunately, we will never know.
One thing I do know is that we can all make a difference, as Shelly said. I am determined that Peter did not die in vain, and the anger and sadness we feel for him can be channelled in a positive way. Become a foster parent, Big Brother or Big Sister, become a mentor for a child in need… there are endless ways to volunteer in your local community to help a child or children at risk. If we do nothing at all, then nothing at all will change.
Rest in peace, little man… I wish I could have saved you.
Anne, rehabilitation for that behavior does not exist, never has and never will. What makes you think a society that allows the murder of pre-birth human babies, in the name of “pro choice” or “planned parenthood”, would much care for a 6, 12 or 17 month old human baby, especially in hands of government bureaucrats? Wake up, protect your young as you would your own life. That woman’s boyfriend raped a 2 year old. If you want to feed, clothe and supply healthcare for someone like that for the next 30 to 50 years, you write the checks.
Terry, thank you for your reply. If you had done extensive research into the death penalty, as I have done, you would know that it actually costs around 6 times more to “legally” execute a criminal than it does to incarcerate them for the rest of his or her life. A dead criminal also can go no way toward providing financial or any other compensation to the family of his or her victim/s.
I have my eyes fully open and I’m wide awake, thank you – I am well aware that the government does not do nearly enough to prioritise the welfare of its youngest citizens, however it is up to us to lobby to have this changed. As I mentioned in my earlier post, there are many actions one can take to make this world a better place for our future leaders. For the record, I do not agree with the idea of “pro choice” or “planned parenthood” either. And I will absolutely protect my children as I would myself, if not more.
i hope them c*nts die
tracey connelly looks like a skanky whore
Excellent news-Barker has been attacked in Jail. Hope the guards didn’t intervene too soon.
Death’s to good for them.
I think they should be treated exactly the way Baby Peter was – all his injuries, inflicted similarly on them.
Oh, when they get out of Prison..
The whole world hates them all. I hope they rot in hell.
